Broussard Sports Complex Hosted the LHSAA Girls’ State Select Softball Tournament

Broussard residents have long known that Broussard is a city with unfathomable potential, and it finally seems as though the rest of the state is learning that too. As a result, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association decided to put on this year’s Girls’ Select State Softball Tournament Championship at Broussard’s very own Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Park.

This two-day tournament featured twenty teams that spanned five divisions. The tournament concluded with five championship games. Broussard Mayor, Ray Bourque, stated, “It’s exciting to continue to attract events like these to our area. We want this to be a memorable experience for all of the athletes coming in, and we encourage visitors to explore all of the amenities Broussard has to offer.”

The tournament took place April 29th through 30th and brought in many families coming with their daughters to compete and countless spectators ready to cheer on their home teams. In addition, the weekend saw a boom for hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers throughout the Broussard community as these guests were ready to see all that Broussard had to offer.

The Broussard Economic Development Corporation is proud to serve a city as prosperous as Broussard and is looking forward to more of these family-friendly events to come.
