33-Acre Maxie & Vida Certified Site

On August 9th, a 33.4-acre site located in Lafayette Parish, known as the Maxie & Vida Girouard Site, was certified under the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Certified Sites program. It is Acadiana’s twenty-fourth certified site and is the eighth certified site in Lafayette Parish.

The Broussard Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) with One Acadiana (1A) and SLEMCO, worked together closely to secure the certification of the Maxie & Vida Girouard Site. We are all committed to meeting the demands of businesses seeking to set up or relocate in Louisiana, thereby boosting job creation and investment in Acadiana. One Acadiana’s Site Development program is designed to increase the region’s portfolio of marketable, development-ready sites by certifying land within the nine-parish area.

Certified sites are pivotal in boosting our community’s competitive edge, facilitating business growth, and attracting investments. Through dedicated collaboration with landowners, both the City of Broussard and the BEDC have successfully designated six Certified Sites that are ready for immediate development. These official locations enable businesses to commence operations swiftly, hire local residents, and enrich our community’s tax revenue. This certification process is all made more efficient thanks to the comprehensive evaluation and due diligence on each site.

The Broussard Economic Development Corporation looks forward to seeing what the future holds for the Maxie & Vida Girouard Site.
