The City of Broussard continues to position itself as a hub for business expansion and economic development with the recent certification of two prime properties under the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Certified Sites Program. This milestone, achieved through a collaborative effort between the Broussard Economic Development Corporation (BEDC), One Acadiana, LEDA, SMEDA, and other regional partners, is set to attract new retail and commercial investments that will drive growth and opportunity in the area.
The newly certified sites, South Morgan (21.31 acres) and Mouton (46.2 acres), are located in key areas within Broussard, making them highly attractive for retailers, commercial developers, and expanding businesses looking to establish a presence in a rapidly growing market.
Located within the city limits of Broussard, the South Morgan site offers high visibility along Ambassador Caffery Parkway—one of the region’s key commercial corridors. Positioned less than five miles from U.S. Highway 90 (Future I-49) and within a 20-minute drive of I-10, Lafayette Regional Airport, and the Port of New Iberia, this site is ideally situated for businesses seeking high-traffic retail or commercial space. Zoned for business and commercial development, South Morgan is now a certified, ready-to-build location that can accommodate a range of retail and service-based businesses.
Also located in Broussard, the Mouton site spans over 46 acres and offers direct access to U.S. Highway 90 (Future I-49) via a signalized interchange at LA Highway 92. This shovel-ready site boasts minimal encumbrances and no environmental or cultural concerns, making it an ideal location for developers seeking turnkey commercial opportunities. With emergency and medical services within 10 miles, the Mouton site provides a convenient and safe setting for businesses looking to serve the Broussard community.
The certification of these sites strengthens Broussard’s ability to attract national retailers, local entrepreneurs, and commercial investors. Certified sites eliminate many of the uncertainties associated with site selection and development, allowing businesses to expedite the construction process, create jobs, and contribute to the local economy faster.
According to Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque, “Together with our other shovel-ready sites, these new certifications make our community even more attractive to businesses. The great teamwork between the City of Broussard, One Acadiana, LEDA, and the Broussard Economic Development Corporation is helping our city grow.”
This success reflects the ongoing commitment of Broussard’s economic development leaders to create a business-friendly environment that fosters growth, innovation, and opportunity. With continued investments in infrastructure, site certification, and strategic partnerships, Broussard is solidifying its place as a premier destination for businesses and retailers looking to expand in Acadiana.
