Construction Budgets fund improvements in and around Broussard

Louisiana Legislature approved the multi-year funding measure, House Bill 2, that lays out spending of more than $5 billion for construction over the next five years, including about $2 billion next year from state sources, borrowed money and federal funding, The Advocate writes. Included projects in the initiative benefit the community of Broussard with much-needed infrastructure developments.

The State of Louisiana is investing $9.31 million in the City of Broussard, which will fund the following projects:

  • $4.4 million to reconstruct S. Bernard Rd. from LA 182 to US 90.
  • $4.91 million for improvement of the portion of Highway 89 in Broussard (which includes $4.41 million in future funding), with another $5.67 million dedicated to improve the portion of 89 in Youngsville.

This investment in our city will not only ease our residents’ commutes and improve their quality of life, but it will also act as a catalyst for development and economic growth for our city.
