Today, Broussard Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) with One Acadiana (1A), and Entergy announced that a 64.80-acre site located in Lafayette Parish has been certified under the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Certified Sites program.
The Loul’s Landing site is Acadiana’s twenty second certified site and is the seventh certified site in Lafayette Parish.
Working with partners across the region, One Acadiana’s site development efforts respond to the needs of site selectors’ and relocating businesses. Establishing a landing pad for businesses is crucial to attracting jobs and investment to the Acadiana Region.
“Loul’s Landing is the City of Broussard’s fifth certified site”, said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “The certified site program has been successful with our first certified site – SafeSource Direct – which projects to bring 1,200 jobs to the area. This success is a direct result of the partnerships between Broussard and organizations committed to our growth, such as Broussard Economic Development Corporation, Lafayette Economic Development Authority, and One Acadiana. The synergy of these partnerships allows us to provide a competitive advantage to attract large manufacturing facilities to our great city. These large employers ultimately bring jobs to our residents – not only in our city – but also in our region.”
“I am proud of all the work Mayor Ray Bourque and his team have been doing in Broussard,” said Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory. “Loul’s Landing is now the fifth and largest certified site in Broussard. Having development-ready sites are key to attracting new businesses not only to Broussard but all of Lafayette Parish. These certifications place Broussard in a position to attract a wider range of projects that will benefit Acadiana for many years to come.”
