Broussard Economic Development will bring together local manufacturing and business leaders for the Broussard Manufacturing Industry Luncheon on Thursday, October 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fezzo’s in Broussard.
The luncheon will feature Louisiana Works Secretary Susie Schowen for a conversation focused on workforce development and the resources available to help Louisiana manufacturers attract, develop, and retain skilled employees.

A strong workforce is essential to the continued growth of Broussard’s manufacturing sector. As businesses expand and industries evolve, employers need access to skilled talent as well as workforce programs that can help them meet changing demands.

Featuring Louisiana Works Secretary Susie Schowen
Susie Schowen serves as Secretary of Louisiana Works and has extensive experience in workforce development, education, and economic development. Before leading the state agency, she served as Vice President of Education for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and spent more than a decade with LED FastStart.
Throughout her career, Schowen has worked to strengthen partnerships among employers, educators, and economic development organizations with the goal of better aligning Louisiana’s workforce with the needs of businesses.
