At the November 10th 2020 meeting, the Broussard City Council voted unanimously to fund the first phase of our $2.4M downtown revitalization master plan. This phase will happen along Main Street, from South Bernard to Clara Street, and the plans include not only major drainage improvements but also an entry gateway structure and signage, a 10′ wide concrete path for walking and biking, benches, trash receptacles, new lighting, bicycle stations, commemorative markers and other signage, ornamental trees and landscape beds.
“I want to thank the City Council for their approval and funding of the first phase of this landmark revitalization project for downtown Broussard,” says Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “This is the first step to not only complete much-needed infrastructure improvements but also to create something that will be beautiful and of economic benefit for our city. A legacy that will benefit generations to come.”
