Throughout the year, the City of Broussard, the Broussard Chamber of Commerce, and the Broussard Economic Development Corporation work together as much as possible to push Broussard to new heights and further the economic growth and overall residential happiness of the area. To summarize some of the year’s efforts, the Broussard Chamber of Commerce released its annual report for 2022 at the beginning of 2023.
Throughout the year, the Broussard Chamber of Commerce welcomed 78 new members and bumped their total member count to over 300. They also celebrated 11 grand openings for new businesses in Broussard. These grand openings are an excellent illustration of the growth that Broussard is consistently experiencing and working to continue.
The Broussard Chamber of Commerce, named Louisiana’s Small Chamber of the Year, also held multiple events to foster professional development and increase community involvement. The Chamber luncheons featured guest speakers, including Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque, Police Chief Vance Olivier, and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson.
Another valuable professional development event hosted by the Broussard Chamber of Commerce is the Business Over Breakfast event which hosted over 250 guests. Members had the privilege of hearing from the President and CEO of Lafayette Travel, Ben Berthelot, Mayor-President Josh Guillory, State Representative Beau Beaullieu, and Senate President Page Cortez. In addition, the Broussard Chamber hosted over 250 golfers at our annual Business on the Green and over 450 guests at A Taste of Broussard.
Regarding the community, the Broussard Chamber of Commerce hosted The Chee-Weez and Geno Delafosse at St. Julien Jams. The annual Independence Day Festival was the largest one, with over 8,000 attendees. In addition, this past year’s Noel a Broussard hosted over 2,000 community members and kicked off the Christmas season with Santa riding down Main Street on a firetruck.
The Broussard Economic Development Corporation is looking forward to growth in Broussard, spurred by the Broussard Chamber of Commerce and the elected officials of the City of Broussard. We are dedicated to helping foster that growth wherever we can.
